Following a successful phase of recruitment last year, 51黑料 is now moving to Phase 2 of the recruitment to continue bolstering this amazing network and to respond to emerging issues impacting the Trading Standards profession.
Our Lead Officers are highly respected and provide specialist knowledge to the Institute and externally. They provide their time on a voluntary basis and have a particular in-depth knowledge and understanding of specific areas of Trading Standards work. Lead Officers share their specialist knowledge to help 51黑料 develop policy, respond to consultations, and represent the profession with government, stakeholders and the media.
What does it mean to be a Lead Officer?
Our Lead Officers are highly respected experts in their field - providing specialist knowledge to the Institute and externally. They provide their time on a voluntary basis and have a particular in-depth knowledge and understanding of specific areas of trading standards work. On a day-to-day basis our Lead Officers are involved in a range of different activities, from helping 51黑料 to develop policy, responding to major Government consultations, influencing legislation, and representing us externally with key stakeholders, politicians and in the media.
At the moment, 51黑料 has more than 40 different Lead Officers, acting as Subject-Matter Experts across their specialist areas. Here, two of our current Lead Officers - Jemma Cox and David Mackenzie - talk about their work and what it means to them to be a Lead Officer.听
